Hardwood
selection
New Image
Hardwood Flooring is experienced at installing all kinds of hardwood.
Popular choices are maple, red or white oak, and Brazilian cherry.
Unusual woods can be beautiful: Australian cypress, chinquapin,
madrone and myrtlewood. Or strike a unique note with exotic woods
such as bamboo and cork.
The total
cost of installing a hardwood floor depends on your choice of
wood and the condition of the surface to be covered. In most cases,
a hardwood floor is no more expensive per square foot than fine
carpeting or vinyl, and will last much, much longer
Specialty
work
Wood floors
are naturally good-looking, but inlays, headers, and other finely
crafted details transform an attractive floor into one that's
exquisite. Take a look at our photo
gallery for examples and ideas.
Durable
finishes
The standard
finish used by New Image is Bonatech Traffic, the most advanced
and durable finish in the industry. It's formulated especially
for heavy-traffic commercial and residential hardwood floors,
and is available in satin or semi-gloss.
Other finishes
are available, including oil-based urethanes. Some woods may also
be custom-stained.
Hardwoodfloor
locations
Hardwood flooring
can usually be installed in any area of your home. There may be
some exceptions; for instance, wood floors are usually not recommended
for bathrooms and utility rooms.
The total
cost of installing a real hardwood floor depends on your choice

The
installation process
Installing
a hardwood floor takes five to ten days. You may live in your
home while the floor is being installed; the work needn't disrupt
your life.
After the
wood is installed, we sand it to a fine smoothness. New Image
uses state-of-the-art vacuum equipment to keep your house as free
of dust as possible.
Floors can
be walked on within three to five hours after the final coat of
finish has been applied. You can safely move your furniture back
onto the floor 24 hours after the final coat. Throw rugs should
remain off the floor for seven days while the floor cures.
No
wax floors
Hardwood floors
used to require regular waxing to keep their beauty, but a new
generation of finishes make waxing obsolete. Most spills and general
cleanup can now be taken care of with a damp mop. Absolutely no
wet mopping!
Free cleaning kit
New Image
customers (installations and large-area refinishing) receive a
free kit of easy-to-use cleaning products formulated especially
for no-wax finishes. To purchase extra kits, call or send us an
e-mail and we'll deliver
the kits to your home.
